Lymphoma Translocation
What do most of the major translocations for non-Hodgkins lymphoma (NHL) have in common?
Burkitt NHL t(8;14)
Follicular NHL t(14;18)
Mantle cell NHL t(11;14)
They have translocations involving chromosome 14 which is the Immunoglobulin Heavy chain (IgH).
The name has the answer.... In IgH the "I" looks like the number 1 and you can fit a number 4 in the H!
