Here's a way to remember the classic motor symptoms of Parkinson disease:
The classic motor symptoms of Parkinson Disease
- Tremor = Resting tremor 4-6 Hz is the MC initial symptom!
- Rigidity = Muscular rigidity
- Akinesia = Bradykinesia (slowness) and hypokinesia (decreased movement amplitude)
- Postural instability = Usually appears later in the disease course. Loss of postural reflexes leads to a stooped posture and increased risk of falls.
