Failure is Not an Option
Please answer the question.
Step 3 > Step 2CK > Step 2CS > Step 1
Yikes! More motivation from the NRMP! If you fail one of the step exams roughly 1/3 of programs will never look at your application. The worst is for step 3... miss it and almost half of the programs won't look at the application!!! Don’t let this happen to you! It’s imperitive that you get the best score that you can on your first attempt.
- So take the proper time you need to prepare… it usually takes students much longer to get ready then they expect and it takes much more effort then they expect.
- Review your weakest areas to pick up points.
- Do as many questions as possible and learn from the ones you miss.
- Check out the articles on my website for fun ways to learn medicine and help the info stick.
- Get help when you need it!
- Check your practice scores to make sure you will get to where you want to be.
- Then go in there with confidence and Slay that Dragon! :)
- I know you can do this!
Finally, there is always a way for students who have a failure on the step! About12% of programs will often look at applicants who have a miss on step 1! Never give up hope. Become the best applicant you can be. Make connections on the wards. You are so much more then a score! Show them.
