Normal Lab Values

It's a great idea to use these normal lab values provided by the boards when your doing Questions.

Print out the sheet and start using them so when the exam comes your ready to "rock and roll"!

We need to know the most common normal values and spend time only on values which we do not know .
I never waits time on CBC or electrolytes but check PTH to make sure I did not miss anything , otherwise practice makes perfect as usual

Also keep in mind that sometimes "normal" values can actually be abnormal, e.g. a normal PTH in the setting of hypercalcemia... or a normal pCO2 in the setting of asthma exacerbation. Keep at it!

agree 110%. just take the standard values from the NBME sheet and put them onto quizlet. learn a couple per day over a month or so and reinforce every day. much easier to commit to memory.
