Step 3 Passing Score Raised

The bar for passing the step 3 exam is going to be raised from 190 to 196 starting January 1st 2016.

No worries.... my students are shooting for gunner level anyway!

The number of items on the step 3 will also decrease beginning January 18th, 2016.

Day 1 Foundations of Independent Practice (FIP) will have a total of 233 MCQ questions. [Used to be 256]

Day 2 Advanced Clincial Medicine (ACM) will have a total of 180 MCQ questions. [Used to be 198]

Note: Day 2 also includes 13 computer-based case simulations (CCS) which has not changed. Only the number of MCQ's has changed.

The Step 3 application fee is $830. ---> Expensive so do it once and rock it!!!

Honestly at this point this exam should be pass/fail. I think they have tortured us enough with the previous.
